Editorial Policy

Deck Fantasy publishes practical, visually minded Magic: The Gathering coverage for Commander and casual players, proxy users, cube builders, collectors, and creative deckbuilders. Our goal is to answer a clear question and give readers enough context to make useful choices at the table, while planning a deck, or when considering a hobby project.

Accuracy and current information

Factual claims should have a reliable basis. For rules, card text, format legality, ban status, set details, and other official Magic information, we prioritize current official sources. Product specifications, prices, availability, shipping terms, and policies should be checked against current first-party information when they materially affect the answer.

Magic products, rules, and services can change. Older articles may not reflect the latest information, so we use dates and relevant context where they help readers distinguish current facts from historical ones.

Sources, evidence, and editorial judgment

We match the source to the claim. Official documentation and first-party product information are preferred for verifiable rules, specifications, and policies. Community discussions can add helpful context about play patterns, common problems, and player sentiment, but they do not replace official facts.

Deck Fantasy separates established facts from analysis and opinion. Recommendations should explain their practical basis, including tradeoffs such as price, quantity, readability, materials, deck function, visual cohesion, and ease of use. We do not present gameplay sessions, printing tests, product orders, or other first-hand experiences as ours unless that experience is documented.

Useful coverage comes first

Our articles are built around reader decisions rather than keyword repetition. A Commander guide should connect advice to choices such as curve, lands, ramp, interaction, draw, theme density, budget, and table expectations. Proxy and accessory coverage should consider legibility, usability, presentation, and value. Art-focused coverage should describe concrete qualities such as palette, composition, frame treatment, mood, and thematic fit.

Comparisons aim to evaluate like with like and explain who benefits from each option. When a detail can change quickly, readers should verify current information before making a purchase or starting a project.

Corrections and feedback

Material errors should be corrected when identified. This includes inaccurate rules information, incorrect card or product details, misleading comparisons, and time-sensitive claims that could change a reader’s decision.

To report an error or share relevant evidence, visit the Deck Fantasy contact page or email contact@deckfantasy.com. Please include the page title, the passage in question, and a reliable source when available. Information about email signup data is available in our Privacy Policy.
